Our mission is:
to preserve and protect important sites of the 450 million year old Chazy Fossil Reef located on Isle La Motte and recognized by the US Department of the Interior as a National Natural Landmark;
to promote scientific research and education at all levels with regard to the ancient reef and earth history;
to support efforts to conserve local natural resources including wildlife habitat, wetlands, and other natural areas, agricultural land and significant historic sites and structures;
to foster public awareness and understanding of local and global environmental issues;

The Isle La Motte Preservation Trust (ILMPT) is a non profit organizaton with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. We are stewards of about 100 acres of a National Natural Landmark so designated by the US Department of the Interior and protected in two preserves on Isle La Motte.
